Job Title: High School Teacher (Full-Time)

Location: Soar Academy Augusta, Augusta, GA

Job Summary: Soar Academy Augusta is a private school dedicated to supporting neurodivergent students and underprivileged populations, with a strong focus on remediation and individualized support. Due to significant growth and an expanding student body, we are seeking a passionate and flexible high school teacher who can embrace our mission and work collaboratively with a diverse team. This teacher will be integral in providing innovative and personalized learning experiences to help our students thrive academically and socially.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement engaging Project-Based Learning (PBL) activities that align with students' interests and learning needs.
  • Provide individualized support and remediation for students, adjusting teaching methods to accommodate various learning styles.
  • Foster a classroom environment that emphasizes inclusivity, growth, and the development of executive functioning skills.
  • Collaborate with fellow educators, therapists, and support staff to ensure a holistic approach to student development.
  • Participate in regular progress meetings to assess student growth, set goals, and modify instructional strategies.
  • Support the school’s mission of providing quality education to neurodivergent students and those from underserved communities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field (Bachelor's preferred).
  • Experience teaching high school students, particularly those with neurodivergent conditions such as ADHD, autism spectrum disorder, and learning disabilities.
  • Familiarity with Project-Based Learning and other student-centered teaching approaches.
  • A flexible, adaptable teaching style with a focus on individualized and inclusive education.
  • Ability to create a positive, engaging, and safe learning environment for students.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team.
  • A passion for supporting underprivileged and neurodivergent students in reaching their full potential.

Additional Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in special education or working with neurodivergent students.
  • Training or certifications in educational strategies for neurodiversity (e.g., behavior management, speech and language development).
  • Knowledge of assistive technology and tools that support diverse learning needs.
