We are honored to have been selected by a nationwide wholesaler of electrical parts and components to support their search for a SQL Server Database Administrator and Analyst.  Qualified candidates will be involved with designing, managing and optimizing the organizational databases system. Primary responsibilities will be managing and optimizing the existing SQL Server database systems and to create reporting to meet the needs of the company.  A strong background with Microsoft Excel VBA and Microsoft Power BI is necessary.  Below are more details for this exciting role

Job Title: SQL Server Database Administrator and Analyst
Job Type: Full-time/Direct Hire
Shift: Days
Pay: $90,000-110,000

Responsibilities:

  • Import and maintain data between SalesForce and our ERP software platforms (Epicor’s Prophet 21).
  • Create, modify and maintain database objects (tables, views, stored procedures, functions) to meet business requirements.
  • Optimize database performance by analyzing query execution plans, indexing strategies, and query tuning.
  • Manage our SQL Server data replication (our live production database replicates to reporting database on a separate server).
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define data models and relationships to meet specified objectives.
  • Monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies, and proactively address issues.
  • Investigate and resolve database-related incidents and errors.
  • Set up and manage database backups and recovery processes.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of database schemas, processes, and configurations.
  • Provide training to end-users on database-related tools and best practices.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into database solutions.
  • Work with the Technology department to deploy and develop the Microsoft Power BI as a reporting tool for our user base.
  • Provide ongoing user support pertaining to accuracy of data within reports, troubleshoot issues and address user inquiries.
  • Work with the Technology Department to manage user profiles, roles, and permissions to ensure proper access control.
  • Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).

Qualification Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a computer, information technology or engineering related field from an accredited college or university (exceptions may be considered based on work experience).
  • Strong understanding of database administration, performance tuning, and data modeling.
  • Experience with ETL processes and data integration.
  • Attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Collaborative mindset with good communication skills (both written and oral).
  • Excellent administrative, oral, written, and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with enterprise integration tools and ETL (extract, transform and load) tools.

Job Skills:

  • Minimum of 4 years or more of relevant work experience in the Microsoft SQL Server environment (including T-SQL, SSMS, and SSIS).
  • Thorough understanding of Microsoft Excel VBA (Visual Basic for Applications).
  • Competence with Microsoft Office 365 suite of software programs.
  • Proven ability to utilize and quickly adapt to new software and reporting systems.
  • Understanding of Microsoft Copilot AI capabilities and how to apply AI to drive productivity and personalization within our Microsoft environment.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Power BI.
  • Familiarity with Epicor’s Prophet 21 ERP system preferred.
  • Familiarity with Tableau software and it’s integration with SalesForce preferred.
  • Familiarity with SalesForce and Apollo software systems preferred
