Position Summary

This position requires a highly organized individual who possesses strong initiative and has the ability to complete multiple projects in a deadline driven environment. This individual must be able to communicate effectively and understands the need to work in an integrated manner with other members of the department in furtherance of goals, objectives, and knowledge.

Job Essentials, Responsibilities, Duties

  • Ensure completion of all tax preparation for client(s) prior to tax team review
  • Prepare and review complex Federal and State income tax returns, including but not limited to, C Corporations, S Corporations, Partnerships, and Individual returns
  • Assist in planning and compliance regarding international tax matters, including waivers and tax returns
  • Assist in the review and oversight of the preparation of quarterly tax projections and communication of required estimated tax payments
  • Assist in the review of year-end shareholder bonus process
  • Maintain and adhere to tax reporting policies and procedures
  • Oversee the performance of quality control review for all financial statements
  • Prepare and review tax correspondence, facilitation and oversight of tax audits and tax notices
  • Oversee the completion of deliverables assigned to the tax department
  • Sign off on 1099 reports before tax team review
  • Prepare and review tax correspondence and facilitation and oversee tax audits
  • Assist in review of all business annual reports, franchise tax returns and other city and state returns
  • Qualify annual financial statements for tax return purposes
  • Review client invoicing for tax services performed
  • Manage and delegate tax projects as assigned by leadership
  • Assist in ad hoc projects as assigned

Specific Job Knowledge, skills, and Abilities

  • Experience using QuickBooks and Excel
  • Proficiency in tax software and technology
  • Experience in working with multi-tiered organizational structures with business and personal components
  • Experience within a Business Management Firm and /or the entertainment industry where there would be good transferability of skills
  • Extremely detail-oriented to create accurate and timely reports
  • Strong work ethic with a positive attitude & a fit with the company’s culture & values

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics
  • Active CPA License
  • Master’s Degree in Taxation a plus
  • 7+ years of tax preparation, or review
  • Must be able to reliably report and commute to the Tri Star office

The salary offered to an applicant will be based on individual qualifications, skills, experience and education. The pay range is subject to change at any time based on various internal and external factors. This position is also eligible for performance-based bonuses and competitive benefits.
