Speech Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited Speech Language Pathology program
  • License from the State of Texas as a Speech Language Pathologist Assistant
  • Valid Texas Driver’s License
  • Experience in the home care setting is preferred but not required.
  • Pediatric experience is preferred but not required.
  • Bilingual is preferred but not required. (English & Spanish)

Speech Language Pathologist Assistant Role (SLPA):

  • Provide a wide range of interventions as outlined in the individualized plan of care determined by the supervising Speech Language Pathologist.
  • Conduct individual or group treatment sessions of speech/language and oral motor development, and consult with other staff and the child's caregivers.
  • Complete documentation to support the delivery of Speech Therapy services.
  • Measure performance and report on patient’s medical record.
  • Adhere to ethical and legal standards.
  • Ensure continued competence and updated field knowledge.
