Job Summary

The University of St. Augustine seeks a skilled Speech Language Pathology Clinical Educator to join our team. As a state-licensed and ASHA-certified speech-language pathologist, you will educate, mentor, and supervise students performing client evaluations, screenings, and treatment of patients during on-campus MS-SLP residencies.

Key Responsibilities

Prepares the clinical environment to ensure students and clients are ready for sessions.
Organizes and maintains equipment; proposes equipment orders as needed.
Teaches and models clinical communication, professionalism, and collaboration.
Interacts frequently with students to provide direction, guidance, and feedback.
Assists with administration, scoring, and written reporting of assessments and therapy sessions.
Communicates with students and families on assessment and treatment activities.
Monitors student performance and progress with clinical skills development, provides feedback, and facilitates student participation in learning activities.
Assesses student performance on assessment, intervention, interaction, and personal qualities.
Supervises, assesses, and provides feedback to students regarding proper protocols for clinical documentation.
Reports student performance to the MS-SLP program.
Communicates with MS-SLP faculty to ensure consistent content delivery and student concerns, and to recommend changes for upcoming semesters.
May lead and/or debrief student participation in clinical simulation activities.
Upholds student and part-time faculty handbook policies.
Promotes professionalism by modeling such behaviors.
Self-evaluates clinical supervision performance; sets goals for improvement in collaboration with program leadership and faculty.

Requirements

Master's degree or higher in Speech Language Pathology or related field.
State-licensed speech-language pathologist and ASHA certification (minimum 9 months).
At least 2 years of hands-on experience in a patient care setting in the profession.
Completion of the ASHA requirement for supervision of graduate interns.
Excellent oral communication and organizational skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Responsive to adult student needs and able to provide a nurturing, respectful learning environment.

What We Offer

The University of St. Augustine offers a part-time, hourly appointment not to exceed 25 hours per week. Weekly work schedules are defined in cooperation with program leaders and faculty.
