Reports to: AdministratorDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 
  1. Provide training in self, social and environmental awareness skills
 
  1. Provide training in sensory stimulation, gross and fine motor skills
 
  1. Provide training in functional skills related to the use of community resources (transportation, shopping restaurants, and social and recreational activities, etc.)
 
  1. Provide assistance and training in community safety, appropriate peer interactions, and social skills
 
  1. Provide training in learning and problem-solving skills.
 
  1. Provide training in adapting behavior to home and community environments (training in developing circle of friends, redirecting anger toward others, etc)
 
  1. Provide training in functional skills related to personal care activities (toileting, bathing and grooming, dressing, eating, mobility, communication, household chores, food preparation, money management, shopping, etc)
 
  1. Monitor health and physical conditions; assistance with medication and/or other medical needs.
 
  1. Provide assistance with personal care, activities of daily living, and use of community resources (assistance in completing personal care tasks when physically unable to learn to do so, assistance to ensure hygiene and eating needs are met, such as hand-over-hand having a brushing tooth, etc.)
 
  1. Specialized supervision to ensure client’s health and safety.  Specialized supervision provides staff presence for ongoing or intermittent intervention to ensure a client’s health and safety.
 
  1. Assistance with transportation of the client to and from training sites and community resources.
 
  1. Provide opportunities to use functional skills in community setting.
 
  1. Ensure the health, safety, and welfare of clients by adhering to OSHA regulations.
 
  1. Identify escalating at-risk behavioral indicators and assist with implementation of behavioral deceleration programs through the use of approved behavioral intervention management.
 
  1. Implement client program plans, including active treatment in the areas of self-help, community living, motor development, communication, etc., both in the home and while utilizing community resources.
 
  1. Implement range-of-motion exercise, appropriate positioning, and other motor skills training, as necessary.
 
  1. Assist with supervision of client’s during fire drills
 
  1. Utilities manual communication and alternative communication systems, with nonverbal and language-delayed clients.
 
  1. Document as required in the client’s personal records file and enter data as instructed for individual programming.
 
  1. Ensure that clients who live at the facility and those who are assisted in the home meet the highest standards of appearance and cleanliness necessary for public scrutiny.
 
  1. Responsible for documenting on Staff Entry log for each client.
 
  1. Provide transportation services to clients.
 
  1. Attend and satisfactorily complete all required training in areas such as first aid, CPR, medication training, TO 
 
  1. Other responsibilities as assigned by Admin Staff.
 QUALIFICATIONS:High school diploma or equivalent (GED) and at least one year of experience with Developmental Disabilities and Intellectual Disabilities.  Valid driver's license.  Good Criminal Records Report KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES:Ability to organize and prioritize work task, ability to work effectively as a team, ability to present self professionally, ability to self-direct work, ability to communicate effectively both orally and written, ability to complete satisfactorily: medication certification, first aid/CPR, and other requirements in orientation, skill in decision-making, judgment and action in emergency or crisis situation, and skills in maintaining confidential information.
