Are you an accomplished Tax Professional seeking an opportunity to excel in progressively demanding tasks and find equilibrium in the offerings of a regional firm? If the answer is yes, our client, a distinguished regional accounting firm ranked in the top 100, presents an opportunity for an ambitious, well-informed, and inventive Tax Supervisor. This position is located in Raleigh, NC (or Pittsboro, NC)and requires on-site work to some degree. Our client is willing to have this position become Hybrid, but having an office presence for new hires is important to their company culture. Our client is willing to have this position work 3 days in the office and 2 from home (with Busy Season exceptions). They hiring team has been transparent that we will hire someone who is 100% on-site over hybrid candidates.

Our client seeks skilled professionals with a minimum of three (3) years' experience in accounting, demonstrating a track record of contributing insights and presenting creative ideas. CPA accreditation is preferred. Our client eagerly engages with tax professionals who relish the opportunity to train and cultivate staff.

Position intel:
  • Does not require certifications or degrees.
  • True Tax Prep Experience Required.
  • This position will be client-facing with the need for great interpersonal skills. This position is where they introduce client relationships to team members, and they begin having a closer relationship with our clients.
  • The position will handle more complex tax returns and high-level clients.
Responsibilities:
  • Formulate intricate tax returns for clients.
  • Aid clients in evaluating tax obligations and propose solutions supporting overall business objectives, ensuring filing positions align with sound business practices and comply with state/federal applicable tax laws and regulations.
  • Devise and implement tax planning and savings strategies for clients.
  • Investigate and provide consultation on diverse tax matters, producing timely, high-quality services and work products that surpass client expectations.
  • Supervise staff work products, providing constructive performance feedback, identifying development needs, and delivering training.
Overview of Tax Practice:
  • Approximately half of our client's practice focuses on delivering tax planning and compliance services. We adopt a proactive stance in furnishing tax services and identifying tax planning opportunities. Our tax services encompass:
    • Analyzing, planning, and advising to minimize federal, state, and local taxes.
    • Preparing and reviewing tax returns for individuals, estates, trusts, not-for-profit organizations, and various business entities.
    • Formulating tax returns for trust and estate accounts for financial institutions.
    • Representing clients in interactions with the Internal Revenue Service and other tax authorities.
