Job DescriptionJob Description

Our client is currently seeking ​an Assistant Controller to join their team Do you know LIFO? Are you an inventory guru? Seeking someone who is very comfortable in a blue collar, family owned business and wants to put down roots.

The current person in this role has been here for 43 years and is looking to train an already experienced accountant over the next year. This is not a job for someone who is looking for short term employment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage inventory (LIFO/FIFO) – monthly closeout/roll, adjustments, physical inventory processing
  • Oversee accounts payable and receivables, invoicing, weekly aging report
  • Month-end closing – journal entries, financial reports, accruals and inter-company accounts
  • Reconcile bank accounts monthly and prepare quarterly reports for the bank
  • Assist with annual property & casual insurance renewal and provide updates as needed throughout policy period
  • Supervise front office - oversee work and provide support as needed
  • Sign company checks and manage ACH transactions
  • Manage payrolls for both office and plant staff
  • Administration of 401k accounts and handle 5500 filings
  • Reconcile all accounts and prepare reports for fiscal yearend; provide reports & needed documents for CPA’s annual review
