Kercom is hiring Fiber I&R Technicians in the following areas:
New London , Norwich, New Haven

Summary

As a Fiber Optics Technician, you will be a vital part of our team, utilizing your core skills in computer networking, field service, and telecommunications to ensure the efficient installation and maintenance of fiber optic networks. Your premium skills in fiber splicing and network installation will be instrumental in optimizing network performance and reliability. With relevant skills in mechanical knowledge and electrical experience, you will troubleshoot and resolve issues effectively. A valid driver's license is required for this role. The technician’s primary duties include installation and troubleshooting of fiber internet and phone services.

Responsibilities include placing drops, mounting fiber systems, activating all FTTH equipment and devices, and setting up local networks for residential or commercial premises.

Qualifications:
Fiber and/or Coaxial experience preferred but not required.

The ideal candidate will be professional, reliable, team-oriented, and quality driven. Must follow all safety protocols at all times.

Job Requirements:
The ideal candidate will be able to:
-Obtain all Job related certifications such as safety and fiber training upon completion of the training program
-Work on Computers and Microsoft Office proficiently
-Create materials list based on plans/scope of work, order and compile materials for jobs in advance of deployment
-Operate all necessary power and hand tools
-Be in good physical condition with the ability to stoop, crawl, bend at the knees and waist, squat and lift 50 lbs;
-Work outdoors in all types of weather
-Travel to work sites

Other requirements:
Must pass drug screening and background check.
Must have a valid driver license.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
