We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Access and Security Service Technician to join our team at Specialty Entrance Technologies. In this vital role, you will provide exceptional service to our clients, ensuring the functionality and security of access systems in diverse environments.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Drive a company vehicle to various job sites across Indiana.
  • Communicate effectively with clients daily to understand their needs and deliver tailored solutions.
  • Travel to field locations for installations, repairs, and diagnostics of access systems, cameras, doors, and hardware.
  • Install and program new alarm and security systems
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with alarms and security systems
  • Identify risk to customers and provide effective solutions
  • Conduct routine preventative maintenance on alarm systems
  • Maintain organization and prioritize tasks efficiently, ensuring timely arrival for work and appointments.
  • Manage bookkeeping related to service tasks, including tracking parts and inventory.
  • Be available for occasional on-call emergency service.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Valid Indiana driver’s license and clean driving record required.
  • Proficient in using GPS and other routing systems.
  • Proven experience in the service/technician/maintenance industry.
  • Experience in the door and hardware industry is preferred but not required.
  • Background in the security and access systems industry is preferred but not required.
  • Familiarity with hand and power tools
  • Ability to handle physical workload
  • Strong troubleshooting and critical thinking skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to stay focused on tasks.
  • Computer proficiency, including experience with service management software and basic office applications.
  • Reliable transportation to and from work.
  • A proactive attitude and commitment to delivering high-quality service.
  • Disciplined, dependable, and resourceful.
  • Ability to communicate with clients and colleagues in a professional manner.
  • Ability to pass random drug testing.

Our skilled technicians offer quality service for all brands of automatic doors, camera systems, audio/video systems as well as integrated or stand-alone access systems, ensuring that both new installations and retrofits for remodels are handled with precision and care.

Operating in Indiana, Northwestern Ohio, West Central Ohio, and Southern Michigan, we prioritize customer satisfaction by facilitating direct communication during your service request. Our knowledgeable team will collect detailed information to ensure that the necessary inventory is prepared in advance, minimizing the need for return visits.

Once we have all pertinent details, our office will promptly dispatch an AAADM-certified technician to your location, often within 24 hours of your call (overtime charges may apply). Our commitment to efficiency is reflected in our fully stocked service vehicles and well-maintained warehouse inventory, ready to address even the most unpredictable needs.

Upon arrival, our technicians will conduct a thorough and skillful diagnosis of your service request. If replacement parts are necessary, most new components come with a one-year warranty, and we also offer rebuilt parts with a 90-day warranty.
