Salary: $28 - $32 per hour or more (depending on experience)

About Us: We are a specialized manufacturing company dedicated to providing high-quality custom parts and services for farm equipment. Our team prides itself on precision and craftsmanship, and we are currently seeking an experienced Machinist to join our dynamic team.

Position Overview: The Machinist will be responsible for operating and maintaining various older-model machines, including Wilton Brand lathes from the 1940s-50s and a Chevalier mill machine. The role involves working on farm equipment and custom parts, requiring a blend of technical skills, time management, and the ability to work under pressure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate and maintain Wilton Brand lathe machines and Chevalier mill machines, ensuring high precision and accuracy.
  • Fabricate and modify parts for farm equipment based on client specifications.
  • Measure and inspect parts using dial calipers and other precision measuring tools.
  • Perform threading, feeding, and other machining operations as required.
  • Complete spot welding tasks and any other welding activities as needed.
  • Utilize own tooling and use additional tools provided by the client.
  • Work effectively with the team to meet project deadlines and maintain a smooth workflow.
  • Manage time efficiently and perform well under pressure to complete jobs as needed.

Requirements:

  • Certification as a Machinist is a PLUS but not required.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience operating lathe and mill machines, with a focus on non-CNC machinery.
  • Proficiency in using precision measurement tools and understanding technical terms such as threading, feeding, dial calipers, turn-down shafts, and bearing journals.
  • Experience with welding, particularly spot welding.
  • Strong time management skills and the ability to perform well under pressure.
  • Capability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Ability to adapt to and work with older equipment.
