Job Summary
The CNC Tool Room Machinist programs and operates CNC / Track, Manual Mills and other shop machines to produce precision parts used to build, repair and maintain dies, as well as make prototypes.
Key Responsibilities
- Program, machine and measure die components in a CNC Mill to specifications provided by Toolmakers and Designers.
- Operate conventional mill, lathe, and surface grinder.
Requirements
- Associate degree (AA) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school preferred.
- 5-7 years' Experience programming and operating CNC mill / Track, Manual Mills required.
- 5 years, Experience with precision assembly methods and techniques.
- CNC Machining: Ability to set up machines, write g-codes and read all measuring instruments.
- CAD/CAM: Ability to work with AutoCAD, Invertor, and SolidWorks.
- Ability to read Blueprints and identify BOM (Bill of material) listed on workers orders and differentiate metals such as but not limited to Vandis 8, Vandis 4, aluminum, brass, and copper etc.
- Ability to communicate effectively about project status and challenges.
- Ability to work independently to manufacturing and characterize parts on time.
- Ability to interact effectively with other technicians, employees, and vendors.

Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, see, talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit. This role operates large equipment while standing for approximately 8-12 hours, regularly twisting and bending in a repetitive motion. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may frequently lift, carry, push and pull materials and objects weighing up to 50 pounds, and heavier weights with proper equipment.
Work Environment
The job may risk exposure to heat and/or cold, loud noise levels, vibration, and moving mechanical parts.
