CNC Lathe Machinist

Pay rate: 17.00-20.00/hr

 

Day Shift:  Monday – Thursday: 6 AM – 3:30 PM Friday: 6 AM – 11 AM, Monday-Thurs. Break: 9 AM - 9:15 AM Monday-Thurs. Lunch: 11:15 to 12 AM

Job description

Under the general supervision of the Lathe Supervisor, the Lathe Machinist performs general shop work of moderate difficulty; performs related work as assigned. This position involves support of organization-wide initiatives, programs, and/or projects. Maintains our mission by providing Quality Products and Service

Essential Duties:

  • Ability to read blueprints and drawings
  • Ability to set up and run multiple machines
  • Monitoring the production process and intervening when problems arise
  • Ability to use the proper tooling, material, programs and set up sheets as required
  • Ability to inspect parts for accuracy using the blueprint and document parts according to in-process inspection sheet requirements
  • Follows company safety measures and protocols
  • Clocks in/out and prepares an accurate timesheet of work completed daily
  • Work with the Supervisor and Programming Department to improve machining processes
  • Troubleshoot problems when issues occur with parts
  • Maintain a clean work station and keep equipment in orderly condition
  • Pass along job information to the next shift if the current job is still running
  • Performs other duties in the organization as required

Qualifications

  • Highschool diploma
  • GED
  • Trade School Certificate
  • Experience with these type of types of machinery: DMG Mori NLX2500, 4 SMEC Turning Machines, 2 HITACHI SEIKI HITEC-TURN 23 SII, 2 FEELER FTC-200L, or, 4 HITACHI SEIKI HITEC-TURN 20 SII?

Conditions of Work

Physical effort requiring bending, stooping, heavy lifting to stock or move materials or tooling etc.

Lifting and/or pushing, and pulling objects 25+ pounds. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
