Job DescriptionJob Description

Apex Therapeutic Services is seeking dedicated and passionate Teaching Assistants to support our educators and enhance the learning experience for our students. This role is ideal for individuals who are committed to fostering a positive and inclusive educational environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist classroom teachers in the implementation of lesson plans and instructional activities.
  • Support students in small groups and one-on-one settings, adapting instructional strategies to meet diverse learning needs.
  • Help maintain a safe and organized classroom environment, ensuring student engagement and focus.
  • Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to teachers regarding individual student needs.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other staff to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs.
  • Assist with classroom management, promoting positive behavior and conflict resolution among students.
  • Facilitate communication between students, parents, and staff as needed.
  • Participate in professional development and training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; an associate degree or higher is preferred.
  • Previous experience working with children in an educational setting is desirable.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, staff, and families.
  • Understanding of child development and learning processes.
  • Familiarity with special education practices and IEPs is a plus.
  • Certification as a Teaching Assistant (or willingness to obtain) is required.
