Mandeville, LA: Flexicrew Technical Services (FTS) is seeking an experienced Database Software Developer with experience both frontend and backend development, especially database development with PostgreSQL, Oracle SQL or MSSQL, including optimization, migrations, and refactoring database systems. Qualified candidates will be local and, in the office, daily. Our client is growing and offers competitive pay and a lot of growth potential

What You Will Do:

• Designs and develops software applications and systems for commercial and recreational vessels.
• Coordinates with hardware engineers and other staff to forecast whether the design will be feasible under cost and time constraints.
• Collaborates with clients and/or internal teams to understand user needs; drafts initial proposal and design of software to meet these needs.
• Analyzes user needs and designs software for client use.
• Develops code and designs software applications based on user specifications.
• Performs software systems testing with a focus on procedures and programming.
• Modifies existing software to correct errors or improve performance.
• Monitors and assists with software testing and validation procedures and programming.
• Monitors and assists with software installation; ensures application operates within established specifications.
• Gathers and evaluates user feedback and then modifies software for better usability.
• Designs databases for specific application areas.
• Determines required system performance standards and hardware configurations based on client specifications, budget, security needs, and other parameters.
• Collaborates with systems analysts, engineers, and programmers to design systems to support required applications.

What We'd Like You to Have:

• Minimum of 2+ years of working knowledge and experience in software programming, including front and back-end.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, equivalent experience or related degree.
• Database development experience with PostgreSQL, Oracle SQL or MSSQL, including optimization, migrations, and refactoring database systems.
• Proficiency in database management best practices.
• Familiarity with tools and techniques for database performance monitoring and debugging.
• Experience in one or more of the following required: JavaScript, Python, Machine Learning & AI, and/or GoLang
• Knowledge of software development life-cycle.
• Experience working on a variety of software development projects.

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
