Location: Kauhou Harbor - Kailua Kona, HI Big Island

Position: Nighttime Manta Ray Swim Guide

Hours: Evening shifts, including weekends and holidays (approx. 25-40 hours per week)

Compensation: Starting at $35/hour, with opportunities to earn up to $45/hour, plus additional earning potential through tips and possible commission.

At My Kona Adventures, we pride ourselves on delivering unforgettable marine experiences while promoting marine-conscious practices. We specialize in nighttime manta ray tours, offering guests an opportunity to connect with the ocean's wonders safely and responsibly.

Responsibilities:

  • Guide guests in the water during nighttime manta ray swims, providing support and ensuring safety.
  • Share ample knowledge about manta rays and other marine life to educate and enhance the guest experience.
  • Assist with setting up and breaking down equipment for manta ray tours.
  • Provide excellent customer service and ensure guest satisfaction throughout the experience.
  • Perform safety briefings and assist with guest preparation (e.g., fitting snorkel gear, pool noodles).
  • Maintain vigilance while guests are in the water to ensure their safety and well-being.
  • Respond to emergencies effectively using First Aid and CPR training.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the boat and equipment.
  • Foster a positive and professional environment for both guests and crew.

Qualifications:

  • Must be available evenings, including weekends and holidays.
  • Reliable transportation is required.
  • Must pass a drug test.
  • Current First Aid and CPR certifications required.
  • Previous experience in guiding or marine tourism is preferred.
  • Strong swimming skills and comfort working in an open-water environment.
  • Physically capable of assisting guests in and out of the water and working in a marine environment.
  • Enthusiasm for marine life and a passion for delivering educational and safe experiences.
