Summary

The Operations Analyst is responsible for gathering, processing, and analyzing business data to support decision-making and drive operational improvements. This role focuses on utilizing Excel and the company’s Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system to track and analyze data related to key business functions such as production, inventory, and performance metrics. The Operations Analyst will work closely with upper management to provide regular reports, highlight trends, and offer insights that inform business strategies. In addition, the role requires collaborating with various departments to collect and organize data, ensuring that all teams have the necessary information to make data-driven decisions. Proficiency in Excel and ERP systems is essential, and familiarity with SQL and Crystal Reports is a plus.

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Data Collection & Analysis: Gather, organize, and analyze data from various departments using Excel and the ERP system to identify trends, track key metrics, and ensure data integrity across business functions.
  • Reporting & Insights: Create regular reports and dashboards for upper management, summarizing key findings and actionable insights that support decision-making and operational improvements.
  • Cross-Department Collaboration: Work closely with other departments to understand their data needs, assist in data gathering, and provide the necessary insights to improve processes, performance, and strategic initiatives.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process optimization by analyzing existing workflows, proposing improvements, and utilizing data to streamline operations.
  • Data Accuracy & Quality Assurance: Ensure the accuracy, consistency, and timeliness of data across various systems (ERP, Excel, etc.), and perform data validation and quality checks to maintain high standards.

 

Skills, Knowledge, & Abilities

  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Business Analytics, Computer Science, or a related field, or a minimum of 4 years of relevant work experience in data analysis or a similar role.
  • Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills: Strong ability to analyze complex data sets, identify patterns, and apply problem-solving techniques to resolve issues and recommend process improvements.
  • Motivation & Initiative: Self-motivated with a strong drive to learn, improve, and contribute to business success; able to take initiative in identifying areas for improvement and providing actionable insights.
  • Technical Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in Excel for data manipulation and analysis; experience with ERP systems is required, and familiarity with SQL and Crystal Reports is a plus.
  • Attention to Detail & Data Accuracy: Strong focus on maintaining data integrity, performing thorough data validation, and ensuring accurate and timely reporting for key business decisions.
