Event Manager

Philly Temps is seeking a highly motivated, energetic Event Planner to join our client's team. This is a temporary to permanent opportunity. The ideal candidate will have a passion for creating memorable experiences and possess strong organizational skills to manage various aspects of event planning. This role requires creativity, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work under pressure while maintaining a positive attitude. The Event Planner will be responsible for coordinating all elements of events, from conception to execution, ensuring that every detail aligns with our clients' vision.
Position Details:
This is a full-time, on-site role. The majority of hours take place Monday through Friday from 9 AM to 5 PM but our client is asking for flexibility / availability to attend events outside of those standard hours. This is a temporary to permanent opportunity that will pay up to $50,000 on a permanent basis.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage event concepts, themes, and timelines.
- Coordinate logistics for events including all vendor aspects such as venue selection, catering, transportation, and accommodations.
- Using Canva to prepare presentations.
- Create and manage budgets for each event while ensuring cost-effectiveness.
- Negotiate contracts with vendors and suppliers to secure the best services at competitive rates.
- Collaborate with teams and assist with taking photos for social media to promote events effectively through various channels.
- Oversee on-site event management to ensure smooth execution and address any issues that arise.
- Conduct post-event evaluations to assess successes and areas for improvement.
- Maintain strong relationships with clients, vendors, and venues to foster repeat business.
Experience
- Proven experience in event planning or management is mandatory - must have at least 3 years of experience.
- Experience in Canva strongly considered.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
- Experience in budgeting and financial management related to events.
- Familiarity with catering services and vendor negotiations.
- Knowledge of event marketing strategies to enhance visibility and attendance.
- Ability to upsell services or products related to events when appropriate.
- Experience working with hotels or similar venues is a plus.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
