Interior Designer Job Description

At Chapin Furniture we are a relational organization that believes our people are our greatest asset.

The Interior Designer Position requires the ability to guide a client through the residential design process by listening to their needs, and helping coordinate fabrics, furniture, textures and colors that will create inspiring spaces for living. We encourage and offer in-home design services and space planning in order to provide the best possible scenario for our clients' living spaces. We staff multiple Interior Designers at our location in order to appropriately handle the number of requests presented through our brick and mortar and online channels. Training and experience in Interior Design is required, along with an enthusiastic, energetic attitude, a strong sales ability, and a good eye for current design.

This position does require working Saturdays, and busy holiday weekends, when we have the opportunity to service the most clients. Our Designers also receive one other day off during the work week, making it a five-day work week.

We are closed on Sundays.

We are closed on following holidays: New Year's Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day.

We also close most of the week prior to Christmas to perform inventory and prep for our Annual Clearance Sale. The Designers are off during inventory, which allows more time with family and friends before Christmas Day, time not counted against your vacation time. Everyone is back to work on December 26 or the first Monday after Christmas.

Previous experience in the home furnishings industry is a huge plus.
