Line Cook

We are actively hiring experienced cooks to become Line Cooks at Brick City Vegan. The duties of this combined position include:

Utility Team Member Responsibilities:

  • Prepare high-quality food by following recipes and special instructions

  • Prep fresh food daily

  • Cook menu items to order using a variety of kitchen equipment

  • Carefully read digital kitchen tickets (KDS)

  • Ability to meet designated ticket times

  • Work efficiently in a small space with other team members

  • Follow all food safety standards

  • Perform all opening and closing duties

  • Maintain a clean and sanitized kitchen line throughout the shift

  • Preparing kitchen area for next shift by cleaning and restocking dining areas and cook stations

  • Properly clean all kitchen equipment (fryers, griddles, ovens, coolers, etc.)

  • Unload and store deliveries, daily or as needed

  • Sweep and mop floors following all safety guidelines

  • Practice safe work habits to avoid injury to self and others

  • Supporting other team members by assisting with other tasks, as needed

  • Report kitchen accidents or violations of food safety codes and procedures

  • Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor during stressful and/or busy times.

Utility Team Member Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Maintain a professional appearance

  • Must have relative work experience

  • Be a team player and work as a team

  • Recognize the needs of the customer

  • Ability to follow a recipe

  • Knowledge of knife safety

  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills

  • Exceptional time management skills

  • Able to maintain professionalism at all times

  • Ability to stand or walk for 8-hour shifts and lift at least 50 pounds

  • Willingness to comply with all food and safety procedures

Job Types:

  • Full-time, Part-time

Salary:

  • $15.00 per hour
