Scanning Specialist

JOB SUMMARY:
Under the supervision of the Scanning Supervisor, the Scanning Specialist will be responsible for scanning and indexing documents assigned to maintain quality assurance and compliance.
Key duties/Responsibilities:
- Responsible for scanning, indexing, and verifying records and documents accurately.
- Operate scanning equipment, adjust settings as necessary, ensure each scanned document is accurate and legible.
- Maintaining accurate records including quality assurance, conversions and tracking of documents.
- Follows work processes to ensure optimal output, quality and downstream process integrity.
- Perform work at established production rates as defined by supervisor.
- Complete all necessary paperwork accurately and in line with procedures.
- Maintain scanning equipment for optimum performance and proper resolution of documents.
- Research and recover documents as needed.
- Process and organize scanned documents in various formats for retention on network and local drives.
- Properly dispose of scanned materials.
- Some filing.
- Perform other duties as assigned and special projects (which may include working with the Administrative Services department) e.g. reception and mailroom support.
SKILLS REQUIRED
- High degree of knowledge of modern office equipment and procedures, Microsoft Office Suite knowledge, Laserfiche knowledge a plus.
- Must possess basic math skills.
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret written information.
- Ability to exercise independent judgment.
- Ability to gather information and organize in an orderly fashion.
- Ability to communicate effectively with individuals, team members and supervisors (verbal and written).
- Ability to define problems, troubleshoot, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to interpret instructions and retain information.
- Must encompass professional demeanor.
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality.
- Detail oriented and organized.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit for three (3) hours at a time
- Repetitive motion of hands, wrists, and fingers
- Occasionally must be able to lift and move boxes up to 30 lbs.
Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Works under the supervision of and reports directly to the Scanning Supervisor.
