DLS is seeking an energetic Direct Support Professional who will provide direct care to those with intellectual and developmental disabilities as we strive to impact community integration.

We are offering a retention bonus of $1,200 to the right candidates.

Requirements:

A key candidate will:

  • Have a High School diploma or equivalent certification
  • Have at least 1-year experience professional or personal, supporting individuals with developmental and cognitive disabilities or mental illnesses with challenging behaviors
  • Must be willing to maintain first-aid and CPR certification
  • Must be willing to obtain QMAP and ACRE certifications
  • Flexible and able to respond well to last-minute adjustments
  • Caring and can maintain good humor

Employees must be able to accept constructive feedback and be attentive with training on our efficient software system and follow uniform business practices. Related experience of customer service, problem solving, and analytical skills is a must.

Benefits:

Health insurance after 90 days for full-time employees and flex schedules for those who need to juggle life demands. Also, there will be some paid holidays per year.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

  1. Providing client-centered support for developmentally & intellectually disabled adults in both employment and community settings.
  2. Preparing and maintaining electronic records of new and existing clients.
  3. Submitting detailed, client-centered notes and matching timekeeping reports on a weekly basis.
  4. Providing transportation to clients for various community activities.
  5. Performing job development, coaching, and employment skills to prepare clients for community-based employment as the need arises.
  6. Ensuring that all DLS policies are followed by staff and clients such as safety, regulations, and company-driven guidelines.
  7. Maintaining strict confidentiality to ensure state and federal guidelines are followed.
  8. Knowledge of incident and mandatory reporting.
  9. Developing and reviewing client-centered goals and implementing strategies to ensure the client is progressing through services.
  10. Attending various trainings to work towards certifications to ensure DLS has the qualifications for each position (e.g., First Aid, CPR, QMAP, ACRE).

New hires must pass CAPS & criminal background and drug tests, as well as, submit a Department of Motor Vehicle record to the company. Training will be hands-on with clients.

Schedules:

DLS employees Schedules can vary from week to week based on client’s needs.

Job Type: full time/ part time/ flex hours

Pay: $17.00 minimum to start per hour. Could possibly start at higher rate depending on education, certification, and experience. With satisfactory performance, you will receive incremental raises and opportunities for future training certifications/advancement.
