What You’ll Do:
Every day brings new challenges and opportunities to grow. In this role, you will:
- Respond to RFIs, review shop drawings, and manage change proposals with precision and care.
- Identify and bid on exciting opportunities for waterfront infrastructure projects, then see them through to successful completion.
- Take the lead on projects, managing them from conceptual design to construction oversight.
- Masterfully apply structural design codes such as ASCE, ACI, AISC, PIANC, and NAVFAC to ensure excellence in engineering.
- Visit project sites to conduct inspections, create punch lists, and prepare record drawings that stand the test of time.
- Provide clients with reliable construction cost evaluations and bid phase support to bring their visions to life.
- Delegate drafting and design tasks to team members, ensuring quality and efficiency at every stage.
- Serve as the Engineer of Record, applying your PE stamp and signature to deliverables that meet the highest professional standards.
Key Qualifications:
You’ll excel in this role if you bring:
- Professional Engineer (PE) license (1+ year)
- Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card or the ability to obtain it after hire
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering preferred
- 3+ years of experience in waterfront or related engineering projects.
- Expertise in regulatory guidelines, facility planning, waterfront construction processes, and construction package preparation.
- Knowledge of structural steel design, dock design, bulkheads, cast-in-place concrete, deep and elevated structural foundations, and mooring systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, including Microsoft Project.
- Strong communication, organizational, and technical writing skills.
- Bonus: Experience in a firm specializing in architecture, engineering, or construction (AEC)
- Bonus: Experience in structural analysis of docks and bridges
- Bonus: Familiarity with MicroStation ORD (OpenRoads Designer), a civil engineering design software.
