Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Prep Cook to join our kitchen team at The Great Greek Mediterranean Grill in Midlothian, VA. Our grand opening will be in October 2024. You will be responsible for preparing fresh ingredients that are key to our authentic Mediterranean dishes. The ideal candidate is organized, efficient, and dedicated to maintaining high food quality standards while working in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare fresh ingredients by chopping, slicing, and dicing vegetables, fruits, and proteins.
  • Marinate and season meats and poultry according to established recipes.
  • Measure and mix ingredients for sauces, dressings, and marinades.
  • Ensure cleanliness and organization of your prep station, following food safety and sanitation protocols.
  • Assist with inventory management, including receiving and stocking supplies.
  • Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure smooth and efficient food preparation and production.
  • Support the line cooks and kitchen staff by ensuring ingredients are prepped and ready for service.

Qualifications

  • Previous prep cook experience in a restaurant is preferred but not required.
  • Strong knife skills and a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to work efficiently and independently while maintaining high standards of food quality.
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Positive attitude and a strong team-oriented mindset.
