Overview
Mid-level Defense Industrial Base Munitions Analyst to provide on-site (Pentagon) subject matter expertise in support of munitions production oversight and analysis.
Responsibilities
· Assist the government in managing the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Logistics Directorate’s participation in oversight of the Department of Defense's industrial base’s munitions production capability.
· Conduct analyses of historical and current inventory, expenditure trends, manufacturing capability, and variations in munition production levels.
· Assist in forecasting munitions supply and demand for current and future operations.
Experience
· Action officer experience (preferably U.S. military) in support of a U.S. DoD senior-level headquarters (e.g., Office of the Secretary of Defense, Joint Staff, Combatant Commands, Defense Agencies (e.g. Defense Contract Management Agency, Defense Logistics Agency)).
· Munitions Expertise: Specific knowledge about various types of munitions, including conventional, insensitive, or emerging technologies like loitering munitions or advanced air-to-air missiles.
· Munitions Industrial Base analysis. Analysis of historical and current inventory and expenditure trends and variances across numerous types of munitions, as well as forecasting supply and demand to plan for future inventory levels.
Qualifications
· Logistics, economics, industrial engineering, or equivalent education
· A strong work ethic, professional demeanor, and excellent oral and written communication skills.
· A general understanding of the Munitions Industrial Base and the ability to conduct forecasting, tradeoff, inventory, and sensitivity analyses.
· Competency with the Microsoft Office suite of software is required, primarily Word, Powerpoint, and Excel.
· Bachelor's Degree and 10 years of experience or Master’s Degree and 7 years of experience.
· A current background investigation that supports granting an immediate DoD Top Secret/SCI security clearance.
