Instrument Engineer

Research, design, review, inspect and supervise the manufacturing, assembly and installation work of Process Instrument and Automation System for chemical, petrochemical, or energy projects.
DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
Ø Work with a multi-disciplined team to organize, initiate and develop the work execution of Capital Projects.
Ø Confer with engineers, contractors, customers, or others to discuss existing or potential engineering projects.
Ø Work with instrumentation contractors to follow through with completion of Capital Expenditure Projects on plant site.
Ø Oversee project production efforts to assure projects are completed on time and within budget.
Ø Review of technical specification and design documents including automation software supplied by contractors.
Ø Direct or coordinate engineering, fabrication, testing activities and documentation to ensure compliance with standard practice, specification, national codes, or customer requirements.
Ø Check the design and fabrication of instrumentation equipment in compliance with applicable codes and regulations e.g. ISA S84 / IEC 61511 / IEC 62433 etc.
Ø Review the manufacturing concept and fabrication process and evaluate the feasibility also with respect of scheduling and optimization.
Ø Participate in pre inspection and testing of automation systems.
Ø Prepare various reports as needed and provide input to time schedule
Ø Follow up overall fabrication status or site installation regarding progress achievements and critical paths as applicable. Control and monitoring of key performance figures to ensure schedule milestones.
Ø Initiate and moderate technical discipline meetings with contractors and participate in regular meetings related to QS, HSE, progress and schedule.
Ø Operate computer-assisted engineering or design software to perform engineering tasks.
Ø Assist in root cause failure analysis and develop procedure / modify automation concept to remedy deficiencies.
Ø Provide input to mechanical completion monitoring system to ensure completeness of individual manufacturing and construction steps.
Ø Follow all relevant company policies and procedures.
Ø Assists other departments and other administrative personnel as necessary.
Ø Perform other tasks as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS
v Bachelor of Science degree (Instrumentation or Automation Engineering) is required.
v Minimum of 15 years, experience of EPC of mega projects and engineering experience in the industry is preferred.
v Solid experience in Ammonia and/or Methanol is required.
v Knowledgeable in the establishment and application of engineering management systems, processes, and tools
v Field Engineering experience: configuration/troubleshooting DCS/PLC systems, preferably Yokogawa (CENTUM-CS, CS3000, PROSAFE-RS)/Alen Bradley/Siemens PCS7);
v Engineering experience: Develop Process Instrument Diagrams (P&ID), Control, Safeguarding, Control narratives, and process control specifications
v Excellent technical and practical skills and able to consistently deliver quality, accurate and timely work to OCI.

v Manage the Fire&Gas plant alarming systems
v Manage the plantwide fiber optic networks
v Manage DCS/PLC/F&G vendor maintenance contracts
v Lead enhancement and coordinate activities on the DCS/PLC/F&G-software and hardware.
v DCS/PLC troubleshooting and software maintenance
v Manage the cyber security of the plant DCS/PLC systems
v Manage all Instruments (plant wide)
v Manage the AMS/PRM, Asset Management Systems / Plant Resource Management systems
v Manage the Analysers (and Analyser House) and the emission monitoring systems
v Manage “Custody transfer” and metering
v Manage the calibration/testing activities of Instruments (including the F&G instruments)
v Manage the plant wide Instrument Air compressor
v Supervise instrument related site maintenance work
