Job DescriptionJob Description

Requirements; undergraduate degree in a science related field, 5 plus years’ experience in the Environmental Waste field. Looking for experienced Materials Manager who is familiar with both East Coast and West Coast Transportation and Disposal of generated waste.

Primary Duties & Expectations:

Ø Duties shall be to perform internal project management activities. Provide support for ongoing and emerging client services.

Ø Must have prior experience managing 3-4 employees, this position will supervise 2-3 materials managers.

Ø Interact and manage vendors, subcontractors and suppliers including negotiating pricing. Manage vendor’s costs, approve vendor invoices.

Ø Conduct Facility audits of our Vendors or prospective TSDF’s, Incinerators, Landfills, and recycle facilities. Evaluate Safety & Compliance of these sites. Observe and document Best Management practices used at these locations.

Ø Determine characterization and create profiles for disposal facilities – developing an understanding of how disposal technology and cost best serve our clients.

Ø Understand and interpret Solid Waste Processing permit. Thoroughly understand Waste Analysis plan associated with permit. Approve waste acceptance as illustrated in PADEP permit.

Ø Interpret Laboratory Analysis, understand regulatory limits as it pertains to RCRA.

Ø Strong Regulatory knowledge not limited to EPA / RCRA but DOT as well.

Ø Administrate all necessary paperwork, including, but not limited to; establish waste approvals and profiles; create manifests; generate client invoices.

Ø Manage complex disposal projects over short- and long-term periods for performance and profitability.

Ø The ability to review client inventories to evaluate materials, estimate customer lab packs and anticipate problematic disposal and/or safety concerns.

Ø Preparing concise and professional client invoices and review vendor invoices for accuracy.

Ø Initiate, create, track project schedules, work activities and project requirements.

Ø Conduct Facility audits of our Vendors or prospective vendors. Evaluate Safety & Compliance.

Ø Establish and maintain strong client relationships.

Ø Understand and practice basic business fundamentals. Communicate follow up activities to the organization.

Ø Have working knowledge of Regulatory and Health & Safety compliance including OSHA, DOT, DEP and EPA regulations.

Ø Possess competent computer skills along with strong written, interpersonal and verbal communication skills. Possess excellent organizational and prioritization skills.

Ø Must have the ability to solve problems and motivation to take initiative in organizing and completing assigned Projects.

Ø Attend and successfully complete related training and education seminars/classes.
