Summary:

The Director of Digital Development will provide leadership, direction, and management for mobile and web developers responsible for building and maintaining digital properties. Reporting to the Vice President of Application Services, this position sets strategic direction for software development, web/mobile design, and the administration of high visible customer-facing web and mobile properties. This position works closely with the Director of Digital Products to collaborate with stakeholders in the company marketing groups.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the design, development, and testing for all layers of our digital experiences including web and mobile apps using modern development tools and platforms
  • Supervises and coordinates team activities to meet company prioritized project schedules and user agreed upon deadlines
  • Analyzes opportunities and recommends course of action for improvement in technology, functionality, and/or performance
  • Supervises, develops, and evaluates direct reports to maintain relevancy with industry-wide best practices and trends
  • Directs procedures, processes, and standards for deployment management, defect management, go-live management
  • Work closely with Architecture and DevOps for the creation of the continuous integration and delivery pipelines for responsible digital properties
  • Establishes application monitoring, support management, and escalation practices for n-tier support
  • Ensure that solutions designed and developed by the team are secure, scalable, cost-effective, and compliant with applicable standards including PCI-DSS, WCAG, PII, and CCPA.
  • Regular and consistent attendance and punctuality
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position supervises the activities developers and analysts. The staff responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing

work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing

complaints and resolving problems.

Qualifications:

  • BS in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent background
  • 10+ years of relevant technology experience including mobile application and website development
  • 5+ years working with agile software delivery teams (preferred)
  • Successful track record of delivering technology projects of very high complexity
  • Must possess strong written and oral communications skills
  • Strong analytical skills. Utilize root cause and impact analysis, interviews, focus groups, and other data gathering techniques proficiently
  • Demonstrate advanced skills with Microsoft Office Suite including, but not limited to: Word, PPT, Excel, and Project
  • Employ Project Management techniques, tools and methods proficiently

Language Ability:

Must have good reading, writing, and speaking skills to effectively communicate with managers, and co-workers.

Math Ability:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole

numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent, and to develop and interpret charts.

Reasoning Ability:

Perform under pressure and/or opposition at times relying on your own independent judgment and knowledge to decide the best directions and solutions. While representing the company, the marketing coordinator will be required to determine answers to questions and situations which may be socially or politically volatile. Execution and communication of such solutions are often in the public eye.

Computer Skills:

Demonstrate advanced skills with Microsoft Office Suite including, but not limited to Word, PPT, Excel, and Project. Work Environment:

  • Possess good problem-solving skills for a complex network topology, being able to escalate to appropriate groups while gathering pertinent information when addressing issues beyond personal scope to assist in identifying issues, root causes and solutions
  • Must have proven ability to work successfully in a high volume, technically demanding job, providing excellent customer service while utilizing strong judgment
  • Must be flexible and willing to travel to other locations
  • Must be proactive in identifying and correcting infrastructure deficiencies.
  • Must be a team player, excellent collaborator and leader
  • Must be mature, poised, and confident in the face of adversity
  • Must be highly organized and capable of providing technical leadership while requiring minimal day-to-day guidance
