Trystar is looking to add a CNC Programmer to enhance on-site fabrication capabilities at Trystar’s headquarters and manufacturing facility in Faribault, MN. In this role, you’ll be responsible for designing and fabricating weld fixtures, assembly jigs, and custom tooling to support manufacturing operations.
This is a hands-on role, from creative ideation and detailed design to fabrication and deployment on the production floor. This role has a wide scope with autonomy to make key design, equipment, and tooling decisions to raise manufacturing efficiency to the next level.
The successful candidate has a proactive, solution-oriented mindset with proven ability to deploy creative solutions to the production floor. Strong technical communication skills are essential, such as effectively articulating solutions with the cross-functional manufacturing team and updating leadership on project status and objectives.

Trystar’s team members are our most important asset, we are in search of a CNC Programmer who will develop our tooling capabilities to meet/exceed customer expectations & achieve strategic and aspirational growth plans while following our values & guiding principles.
Under the direction of the enterprise Manufacturing Engineering Leader, the CNC Programmer is responsible for all aspects of in-house fixture development, fabrication, and maintenance to maximize productivity of our fabrication and assembly operations. They will implement best practices and processes to ensure robust design and efficient deployment of tooling to the production floor, as well as recommending changes to equipment or processes to enable Trystar’s aggressive growth strategy.

- Provide specialist technical advice and support on all aspects of fixture design, manufacturing and estimating
- Support production and engineering with tooling/technical problems
- Design fixtures to support improvements to the manufacturing processes at Trystar’s 11 North American facilities
- Manufacture new tools/fixtures from technical drawings to a high level of workmanship and in an efficient, cost-effective manner
- Sets up and operates CNC Mills, CNC Lathes, saws, manual mill and manual lathe
- Set up and operate robotic welding, CNC winding, and CNC punch and brake press equipment
- Create 3D CAD designs and CAM programs to support fabrication activities
- Creates and maintains drawings and models as needed to support tool room activities
- Welding and assembly of production tooling and fixtures
- Manage the running and plan activities of the tool room facilities, ensuring the tool room is a safe environment in line with health, safety and environmental requirements.
- Implement storage of tools to facilitate highest standards within the department for good housekeeping and safety
- Ensure all stock items, tool inserts and spares are organized
- Oversee all work through the tool room efficiently and cost effectively and ensure that all target dates for tooling are met
- Provide cost estimates for new tooling, modifications and repairs
- Design and prepare concept drawings of new equipment or modifications to existing equipment.
- Identify and implement solutions for issues relating to safety, quality, productivity and cost reductions
- Participates in continuous education/training to improve tooling knowledge and skills.
- Coaches/trains others in use of machining tools
Job Requirements:
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum five (3) years of experience working in a machine shop or tool room environment
- Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
- Computer proficiency in Microsoft Suite of tools
- Highly proficient in CAD
- Highly proficient in CAM software
- Experience in CNC programming, setup, and running,
- Manual fabrication capabilities (mill, lathe,saws, presses)
- Experience in selecting tools and equipment
- Fixture design and maintenance experience
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Machinists degree or Certification
- Strong communications skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to influence across all levels in the plant.
- Strong organizational skills with ability to prioritize and manage multiple assignments.
- Strong mechanical aptitude, including fabrication and equipment repair experience.
- Ability to work on complex assignments with limited supervision or direction.
- Ability to adapt & thrive in a fast-paced/high growth work environment.

- Bilingual (English and Spanish) opportunities.
- Solidworks CAD/CAM preferred
- Robotics integration experience a plus
