Agile Product Owner

At Novarad, the Agile Product Owner is responsible for managing the product backlog, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring that products are developed to meet business needs and deliver maximum value. The Agile Product Owner is influential in determining what features are developed, ensuring that customer and stakeholder needs are met.
This is a 100% onsite position located in our Provo office. Local candidates only, please.

Key Responsibilities for this role include:
- Backlog Prioritization: Own the product backlog, prioritizing features, epics, and user stories based on clinical value, patient outcomes, and feedback from healthcare practitioners.
- User Story Creation: Develop user stories with well-defined acceptance criteria, ensuring they are informed by clinical insights, patient care experiences, and feedback from hands-on labs, including cadaver labs.
- Flow Management (Kanban): Use Kanban to manage the continuous flow of tasks, ensuring the highest-priority clinical items are pulled from the backlog and progressed efficiently, while monitoring work-in-progress (WIP) limits to prevent bottlenecks.
- Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the primary liaison between the development team and external stakeholders, ensuring that stakeholders are informed about progress, timelines, and any changes in priorities.
- Cadaver Lab Participation: Attend and assist with cadaver labs, gaining hands-on insights to improve the product development process and ensure clinical relevance.
- Risk Management: Identify and manage potential risks to product delivery, including resource constraints, dependencies, and timeline changes, adjusting priorities as needed
Requirements
Required Skills and Competencies:
- Agile Expertise: Deep understanding of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and product development processes, with a proven track record of successfully managing product backlogs.
- Clinical/Patient Care Knowledge: Direct experience working in or with clinical environments (e.g., hospitals, clinics) or patient care settings. Understanding of healthcare regulations, patient needs, and clinical workflows
- Technical Understanding: Ability to work closely with technical teams and understand the technical constraints and opportunities in product development.
- Customer Focus: Strong customer orientation with experience gathering user feedback and translating it into actionable product improvements.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to clearly articulate the product vision and roadmap to both technical teams and stakeholders.
- Decision-Making: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make well-informed decisions in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Collaboration: Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including engineering, marketing, and customer support.
Required Education and Experience:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in business, computer science, healthcare management, or a related field AND/OR surgical technician experience.
- Experience: 3+ years of experience in a Product Owner or Product Management role, preferably in a healthcare or medical device environment with exposure to patient care.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Certifications: Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO), Certified Scrum Professional (CSP), Team Kanban Practitioner (TKP), Professional Scrum with Kanban (PSK) and/or other relevant certifications.
- Regulatory Experience: Experience working with products that require FDA approval or knowledge of medical device regulatory processes
- Experience using tools such as Jira, Confluence, or other Agile management tools.
