NURSE PRACTITIONER

 

Dr. Steve Byrd’s Pediatric Practice is looking for an experienced enthusiastic Nurse Practitioner to join his Team. Dr. Steve Byrd is a world renowned plastic surgeon who developed a non-surgical treatment for ear deformities found in newborns’ ears.

Ear deformities are common in newborn infants occurring in 15-20% of births. These deformities may be treated with a molding device called EarWell. EarWell offers an insurable, non-surgical, painless solution for these babies, if treated within the first 2 weeks of a newborn’s birth. Dr. Byrd has a goal to reach and educate as many parents as possible before the newborn ages more than 2 weeks. To date this treatment has been introduced not only to newborns and their parents across the U.S., but also around the world: China, Europe, the Netherlands, the Middle East and Korea.

As Dr. Byrd begins to focus on his Earwell practice, he foresees the need to train a Nurse Practitioner, as an additional member of his team. The Nurse Practitioner will share responsibilities with Dr. Byrd and collaborate in the care of newborns with the Earwell device. The Nurse Practitioner will also provide independent comprehensive treatment and in office application of the Earwell device.

As a part-time nurse practitioner, you would be expected to work every Thursday in our Dallas location from 9 am to 12 pm, with the potential to extend to 5 pm. You will be responsible for covering Friday's emergency visit. If no patients are scheduled on Fridays, you will receive a $50 compensation for being available. You will also be paid at least 3 hours if called in on Fridays.

The provider will also be responsible for sharing the weekend on-calls. Note: Once growth begins, you will also be scheduled to work on Tuesdays in Dallas from 9 am to 12 pm, with the possibility of extending the time to 5 pm.

As a part time employee, benefits which include Medical, Dental, Vision, Long Term Disability and Life Insurance or paid time off, will not be offered.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

• Plastics experience a plus but not required.

• Pediatric experience a plus but not required.

• Bilingual a plus but not required.

• Independent Patient Assessment Skills

• Team Player

• Comfortable around computers, since you will be using one all the time.

• High attention to detail, we are talking about patient lives here.

• Maintain a professional appearance, demeanor, and team-oriented behavior; have mutual respect for management and team members; partner with team members to create an exceptional experience for each and every patient. Be punctual, dependable, goal oriented, and able to receive constructive coaching.

 

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

· Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.

· Graduate of an approved Nurse Practitioner program.

· National Board Certification for Nurse Practitioners.
