Job DescriptionJob Description

We are seeking a Buyer/Supply Chain Analyst to help out a manufacturing company in Lees Summit, MO for 12-18 months.

Target Pay: $30 - 40/HR

This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary from time to time.

  • Secures and analyzes quotations, negotiates prices and terms with suppliers, and recommends suppliers with respect to cost, quality and delivery competitiveness for assigned responsibilities.
  • Collaborate with the Manufacturing Engineers to address and resolve the disposition of rejected and/or non-conforming parts.
  • Address and resolve invoice discrepancies and process returns in a timely manner.
  • Coordinates, as appropriate, quality matters and engineering changes/developments between company and suppliers.
  • Track and expedite requisitions and purchase orders to ensure on time delivery
  • Maintain records associated with the purchasing function, supplying relevant information to the accounting, sales and production functions as required.
  • Complete and maintain all required paperwork, records, documents, etc.
  • Follow and comply with all safety and work rules and regulations.
  • Locate vendors of materials, equipment or supplies, and interview them to determine product availability and terms of sales.
  • Other duties as assigned

 

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of an Associate’s degree (AA) or three years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Basic blueprint reading skills.
  • Excellent and effective communication and customer service skills.
  • Experience with price negotiations
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience as a buyer in a manufacturing setting
