The Piasecki Aircraft Corporation Configuration Control Specialist is responsible for overseeing and managing configuration management processes. This role ensures all aspects of product development—software, hardware, and systems—are accurately tracked, documented, and controlled throughout their lifecycle. The Configuration Control Specialist collaborates with cross-functional teams to maintain consistency, traceability, and compliance with industry standards and PiAC’s internal requirements, ultimately supporting timely and secure production and delivery.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Execute and monitor product configuration control and changes, ensuring consistency across systems and adherence to configuration management standards.
  • Oversee the production and delivery schedules of hardware and software systems to meet project timelines.
  • Work closely with project management and development teams to maintain a streamlined change process and establish software baseline schemes.
  • Provide technical configuration management support, ensuring team alignment on configuration processes and procedures.
  • Develop, document, and implement robust configuration management procedures, promoting efficient and secure practices for the organization.
  • Oversee the integrity and security of configuration databases and promptly address configuration issues.
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date documentation for configuration control, including specifications, drawings, software versions, and data entries.
  • Ensure configuration-related documents are properly stored, easily accessible, and meet PiAC standards.
  • Track and report on configuration management activities, including change requests, document status, and compliance metrics.
  • Ensure all configuration management activities meet industry standards and export control compliance requirements.
  • Completes other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES:

  • Proven experience leading teams and managing cross-functional processes in configuration management or a related field.
  • Strong communication skills to convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills to identify and resolve configuration-related issues efficiently.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and data management.
  • Familiarity with configuration management software and database security practices.

EDUCATION / CERTIFICATIONS / CLEARANCES:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in configuration management, engineering, or a similar technical area.
