TeamGOV, Inc is currently seeking a Journeyman Engineer (JE) for a GSA contract in association with the International Union of Operating Engineers Local Union No. 701. The Journeyman Engineer will have access to full union wages, benefits, and perks.

The JE operates and maintains one or more systems which provide an establishment with such services as heat, air-conditioning (cool, humidify, dehumidify, filter, and circulate air), refrigeration, steam or high temperature water or electricity.

Responsibilities:

  • Observing and interpreting readings on gauges, meters and charts which register various aspects ofthe systems operations, adjusting controls to insure safe and efficient operation of the system and to meet demands for the service provided
  • Recording in logs various aspects of the system's operation
  • Keeping engines, machinery and equipment of the system in good working order.
  • The JE will direct and coordinate activities of other workers below this classification in performing tasks directly related to operating and maintaining the facility, equipment or systems.

Requirements:

  • Perform general contract work.
  • Minimum of 2 years recent experience (within the past 4 years) in performance of M&O of buildings and systems of comparable size and complexity of the assigned GSA Asset.
  • Familiar with and have a strong working knowledge of all pertinent applications software that is licensed and utilized by the company and will possess appropriate discipline licenses.

Excluded are: a) Craft workers included in a formal apprenticeship or progression program based on training and experience; and b) Workers performing simple maintenance duties not requiring practical skill and knowledge of a trade (e.g., changing light bulbs and replacing faucet washers). The JE will perform general contract work. The JE will have had a minimum of 2 years recent experience (within the past 4 years) in performance of M&O of buildings and systems of comparable Size and complexity ofthe assigned GSA Asset. The JE will be familiar with and have a strong working knowledge of all pertinent applications software that is licensed and utilized by the company and will possess appropriate discipline licenses.

General maintenance and practical skills with knowledge and experience in plumbing, electrical, painting and drywall repair. Ability to repair lighting ballast, belts, bearings and fixtures 20' high. Good customer service and the ability to track trends to resolve tenant work orders.
