We are seeking a dedicated and skilled individual to join our firm as a Staff Auditor. In this role, you will play a critical part in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of financial reporting for non-profit organizations. Your main responsibility will be to perform thorough and independent audits of our clients' financial statements and internal controls.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct detailed audits of client financial statements, ensuring full compliance with relevant accounting principles, regulations, and best practices.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls and risk management processes for non-profit organizations.
- Perform testing and analysis of financial transactions, supporting documentation, and general ledger accounts.
- Identify and report any discrepancies, irregularities, or areas for improvement, and provide recommendations for corrective actions.
- Stay informed on changes to accounting standards and regulatory requirements affecting non-profit organizations, ensuring all audits comply with current standards.
- Prepare clear and concise audit reports summarizing findings, conclusions, and recommendations.
- Assist in the preparation of non-profit tax returns to ensure accurate and timely filings.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Management, IT, or a related field.
- Familiarity with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAAS), and financial reporting requirements.
- Proficiency in accounting software and tools (e.g., QuickBooks, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) to analyze financial data and perform audit procedures.
- Strong analytical skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with team members and clients.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.
