We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated individual to join our Firm. As a financial statement auditor, you will play a vital role in ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and compliance of non-profit organizations. Your primary responsibility will be to conduct thorough and independent audits of our non-profit clients’ financial statements and internal controls.
Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive audits of client financial statements, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting principles, regulations, and best practices.
- Assess and evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls and risk management processes.
- Conduct detailed testing and analysis of financial transactions, supporting documentation, and general ledger accounts.
- Identify and communicate any irregularities, discrepancies, or potential areas of improvement to management, and recommend corrective actions.
- Stay updated with evolving accounting standards and regulatory requirements applicable to non-profit organizations and ensure adherence to these standards in financial reporting and auditing processes.
- Prepare clear and concise audit reports summarizing findings, conclusions, and recommendations.
- Preparation of non-profit tax returns
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Management, IT or a related field.
- Familiarity of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAAS) and financial reporting requirements.
- Proficiency in using accounting software and tools (e.g., QuickBooks, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) to analyze financial data and perform audit procedures.
- Strong analytical skills with keen attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with team members and clients.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.
