Job DescriptionJob DescriptionMicroHealth is seeking a Network Engineer IV to support our client and team. As a Network Engineer supporting the Defense Health Agency (DHA) designated to support requirements that cross all network activities. They will be the subject matter expert in network technologies and strategy for Local Area Network (LAN), Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN), and Wide Area Network (WAN) at the Defense Health Headquarters (DHHQ) in Fort Sam Houston, TX.

**This is a Planned Position.

Security Clearance Level: Secret

Essential Functions:
  • Oversees and participates in the design, testing, upgrade and integration of new or existing information networks, such as local area networks (LAN), Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN), Wide Area Networks (WAN), Voice over IP (VoIP), intranets, extranets, and other communications networks.
  • Coordinates with architecture and evaluate new and emerging network technologies and make recommendations for selection of these products
  • Functions as a technical expert across multiple project assignments
  • Coordinates changes such as implementation of new networks, upgrades or version increments to existing networks with network administrators and stakeholders
  • Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues.
  • Provide day-to-day operational and administrative support for deployed networks in both lab and production environments
  • Document all stages of the engineering process, including build, configuration, testing, and deployment of networks.
Required Qualifications:
  • Education: Master’s Degree and/or equivalency
Experience:
    • Eight (8) years of progressive experience (with Masters)
    • Ten (10) years of progressive experience (Bachelors)
    • Twelve (12) years of progressive experience (HS Diploma)
    • Cisco Identity Service Engine (ISE) training and four (4) years of practical experience in a production environment.
    • Ten (10) years of experience supporting LAN and WLAN activities.
    • Five (5) years or more experience in a major hospital supporting more than 100+ beds environment.
    • Five (5) years of experience supporting a military production network.
    • Designing and deploying a wireless network consisting of 1300+ wireless access points (WAPs).
Required Certifications:
    • Commercial (baseline) certificates: One form of a Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) level certification.
    • IAT II: Commercial Certificates for DoD 8570 certificate requirement  
Salary:
 
  • $120,000- $140,000
Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit. The employee frequently is required to walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand. The employee may lift or move objects up to 5 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.
