PRIMARY PURPOSE: Responsible for coordinating, planning, and scheduling maintenance work to minimize downtime and optimize productivity. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of maintenance processes, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with various teams.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education / Certification / License:

- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a related field (Preferred)

- Valid driver’s license

Experience:

- 2+ years of experience in maintenance scheduling or coordination, preferably in a produce or food processing environment.

- Familiarity with maintenance management software and tools.

Special Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:

- Bilingual - English & Spanish (Preferred).

- Basic understanding of equipment used in produce processing.

- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills, with knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical components.

- Familiarity with hand and power tools, precision measuring instruments, and diagnostic equipment used in equipment maintenance and repair.

- Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals, blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address scheduling conflicts and equipment issues.

- Strong work ethic and dependability, with ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

- Strong time management and decision-making skills, with ability to get top notch results.

- Strong commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement to achieve operational excellence.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES / ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

- Schedule Maintenance Activities:

o Develop and manage a comprehensive maintenance schedule, prioritizing tasks based on production needs, equipment availability, and regulatory requirements.

- Coordination:

o Collaborate with production, maintenance, and logistics teams to ensure maintenance activities are aligned with operational schedules.

- Resource Management:

o Allocate necessary resources, including personnel, tools, and materials, to ensure timely completion of maintenance tasks.

- Preventive Maintenance Planning:

o Implement and monitor preventive maintenance programs to reduce equipment failures and extend asset life.

- Record Keeping:

o Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, work orders, and equipment performance data.

- Reporting:

o Generate reports on maintenance metrics, including downtime, costs, and work order completion rates for management review.

- Compliance:

o Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety regulations, industry standards, and company policies.

- Continuous Improvement:

o Identify opportunities for process improvements in maintenance scheduling and execution.

- Emergency Response:

o Coordinate emergency maintenance activities, ensuring quick resolution to minimize production disruptions.

- Follow all safety procedures/guidelines and maintain a clean and safe work environment.

- Report employee accidents, safety hazards, equipment issues, and quality issues promptly.

- Must be willing to work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends, and holidays) as needed.

- Performs other tasks as assigned or requested.

 

KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS:

- Work Order Completion Rate:

o Definition: Percentage of scheduled maintenance work orders completed on time.

o Target: 90% or higher.

- Downtime Reduction:

o Definition: Measure of equipment downtime attributed to maintenance activities.

o Target: Reduce downtime by a specified percentage (e.g., 15%) year-over-year.

- Preventive Maintenance Compliance:

o Definition: Percentage of preventive maintenance tasks completed as scheduled.

o Target: 95% compliance or higher.

- Emergency Maintenance Incidents:

o Definition: Number of unplanned emergency maintenance activities within a given period.

o Target: Decrease emergency maintenance incidents by a specified percentage (e.g., 20%).

- Equipment Availability:

o Definition: Percentage of time equipment is available for production.

o Target: Maintain equipment availability above 90%.

- Feedback from Production Teams:

o Definition: Measure of satisfaction from production teams regarding the maintenance scheduling and responsiveness.

o Target: Achieve a satisfaction score of 80% or higher on feedback surveys.

- Inventory Accuracy for Maintenance Parts:

o Definition: Accuracy of inventory records for maintenance spare parts.

o Target: Achieve 95% accuracy or higher in inventory counts.

- Training and Development:

o Definition: Number of training sessions conducted for maintenance personnel.

o Target: Conduct at least [X] training sessions per year to improve skills and knowledge.

- Scheduled vs. Actual Maintenance Hours:

o Definition: Comparison between planned maintenance hours and actual hours spent on maintenance.

o Target: Keep the variance within a specific percentage (e.g., 10%).
