Position: LG 1 Fabricator

Department: Fabrication Shop

Reports To: Plant Manager(Harmony)

Job Summary

As a member of the Fabrication Shop, you will be responsible for welding components and sub-component items for assemblies, and equipment that ships direct to our customers. Must have pride and take ownership of work, and work well within a team environment. Welding castings, pipe, plate, and other assemblies comprised of similar and dissimilar metals i.e. copper, Inconel steel and stainless steel etc. utilizing primarily the GMAW, GTAW, and SMAW welding processes. Knowledge of various metals, filler material preheating and the effects of shrinkage, expansion from heating and welding. Must be proficient in reading and interpreting Engineering drawings and power and measurement shop tools and equipment.

Education and Training Required

  • High school or equivalent with Votech and/or Welding certifications preferred

Skills Required

  • Self-motivated individual with a great work ethic and eagerness to learn
  • Mechanical aptitude and strong mathematical skills
  • Must have measuring skills and blueprint reading skills
  • Work well in a team environment
  • GMAW, GTAW, FCAW, SMAW Welding Skills preferred
  • Inconel, Stainless, Carbon, Copper metals welding preferred

Position Duties

  • Maintain equipment, tooling and general shop area in a clean and professional manner
  • Accurately log in and off of jobs and accurately fill out job paperwork
  • Must be able to work first shift, lift up to 60 lbs., stand up to 10 hours per day and crawl, kneel and bend over regularly
  • Perform all hydrostatic/pneumatic & flow testing and accurately complete required documentation

  • Basic fabrication shop tools (Grinders, torches, hammers, etc.)
  • Overhead crane and fork trucks
  • Metal Inert Gas (MIG) and Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG) Welding Equipment
