POSITION PURPOSE

The Benefits Analyst position is responsible for assisting with the development, coordination, communication, and administration of the employee benefits program. This position is responsible for ensuring compliance with all relevant laws, while effectively managing various human resources functions.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

To succeed in this role, an individual must be able to perform satisfactorily the functions listed below. The company will provide reasonable accommodations to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these functions.

  • Assist in the administration of employee benefits and leave programs.
  • Ensure accurate recordkeeping and timely communication with employees.
  • Conduct employee benefit orientation on a routine basis.
  • Assist in coordinating, monitoring, and maintaining records for leaves of absence, the Family Medical Leave Act, Americans with Disabilities Act, and other state and federal laws and regulations.
  • Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to the day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks, and ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Provide HR policy guidance and interpretation as appropriate.
  • Assist with special projects, as required.
  • Conduct all activities in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, standards, policies, and procedures.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in planning, coordination, and facilitation of employee activities to boost morale and teammate engagement.
  • Serve as a back-up for HR Support Specialist as needed.
  • Perform duties in the absence of the Manager of Benefits & HRIS.
  • Develop and implement benefits policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • No direct reports.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

To perform this job successfully, an individual must have the following education and experience.

  • Associate degree with a minimum of two years of related experience required. Bachelor's degree in human resources or a related field preferred. Any combination of education and experience that would provide an equivalent background may be considered.
  • One to two years' experience with ADP or other Human Resources Information Systems preferred but not required.
  • PHR/SHRM-CP or SPHR/SHRM-SCP certification desired.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand.
  • Proficiency in using a computer and related technology, including proficiency with Microsoft Office, the internet, and spreadsheets and databases.
  • Ability to operate office equipment, including copiers, fax machines, and phones.
  • Basic mathematical abilities (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division).
  • Ability to prioritize, organize, and manage tasks and time effectively.
  • Ability to accurately organize and maintain paper documents and electronic files.
  • Ability to interact with individuals and groups in person, virtually and via phone, e-mail, and written correspondence.
  • Ability to maintain the confidentiality of information and professional boundaries.

  • Ability to work in a deadline-oriented office environment
  • Ability to remain stationary at least 50% of the time
  • Some local travel may be required
