Networking Engineer

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Network Engineer with strong expertise in Cisco and Fortinet technologies, and a deep understanding of routing protocols including BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the design, deployment, and troubleshooting of network infrastructures to ensure reliable and secure connectivity. This role involves working on complex network projects, maintaining high availability, and resolving technical issues in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Design & Deployment:
- Design, implement, and maintain scalable, secure, and reliable network solutions using Cisco and Fortinet products.
- Configure and deploy network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs.
- Integrate routing protocols such as BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP to optimize network performance.
- Plan and manage network installations and upgrades, ensuring minimal downtime.
Network Management & Troubleshooting:
- Monitor network performance and proactively identify potential issues to ensure uninterrupted services.
- Perform root cause analysis and resolve complex network issues, including routing problems, firewall configurations, and security vulnerabilities.
- Troubleshoot Layer 2/3 network issues and optimize performance of LAN/WAN environments.
- Implement network monitoring tools to ensure uptime and optimal performance.
Security & Compliance:
- Configure firewalls, VPNs, and other security solutions to safeguard the network from threats.
- Ensure compliance with industry best practices and security standards.
- Participate in regular network audits and security assessments.
Documentation & Collaboration:
- Maintain up-to-date network documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and policies.
- Work closely with other IT teams to ensure seamless integration and support of the network infrastructure.
- Provide training and support to junior team members and other IT staff.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field preferred or equivalent level experience
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNP, Fortinet NSE) are a plus.
Experience:
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with Cisco and Fortinet networking products.
- Proven experience in routing protocols such as BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP.
- Strong background in designing, deploying, and troubleshooting enterprise network environments.
- Experience with network security and firewall management (preferably Fortinet FortiGate).
- Familiarity with network monitoring tools and network automation.
Skills:
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex network issues.
- In-depth knowledge of IP addressing, VLANs, VPNs, NAT, QoS, and other key networking concepts.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Preferred Certifications:
- Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP)
- Fortinet Network Security Expert (NSE)
- Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) (optional but preferred)
