Housing Coordinator

The Housing Coordinator will be responsible for assisting individuals with disabilities in search of long-term affordable housing. The qualified candidate will work with clients that are homeless or more often than not at risk of homelessness. Providing the necessary support and advocacy the client may require during the housing search process.
You will begin with a detailed housing service plan unique to each client addressing their needs. The plan will identify obstacles the client has faced in search of long term housing. You will help find solutions to these barriers and successfully place these individuals in long term housing. After completing this task you will be responsible in helping the client sustain their new homes.

Responsibilities:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the housing program, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and guidelines.
- Manage tenant applications, screenings, and lease agreements.
- Coordinate move-in and move-out processes, including inspections and security deposit refunds.
- Provide support and assistance to tenants in resolving housing-related issues and concerns.
- Conduct regular property inspections to ensure compliance with health, safety, and maintenance standards.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of housing operations.
- Collaborate with community organizations and agencies to provide resources and support for tenants.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to tenant information, rent payments, and maintenance requests.
Skills:
- Proficiency in OneSite or similar property management software.
- Knowledge of Section 8 housing programs and regulations.
- Strong background in social work or related field, with experience in crisis intervention and motivational interviewing.
- Ability to negotiate and resolve conflicts in a fair and professional manner.
- Familiarity with Fair Housing regulations and LIHTC (Low-Income Housing Tax Credit) program requirements.
- Understanding of relevant laws and regulations pertaining to housing management.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability to handle crisis situations effectively.
