We are seeking a dedicated Fry Cook with at least 3 years of experience working with chicken and meat in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen. In this role, you will not only be responsible for cooking but also expediting orders to ensure that food is prepared quickly and served fresh to customers. The ideal candidate will have experience in a fast food environment, be able to handle the pressure of high-volume service, and work efficiently to ensure quality and speed.
Responsibilities:
- Fry and cook chicken, meat, and other menu items according to company standards for taste, texture, and presentation.
- Expedite food orders by ensuring that all components are cooked properly and sent out to customers in a timely manner.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the fry station and other kitchen areas, ensuring that all tools and equipment are in good working condition.
- Monitor cooking times and temperatures to prevent overcooking or undercooking and ensure food is always fresh.
- Assist in prepping ingredients and organizing the kitchen during high-volume periods.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff and other team members to ensure smooth, efficient food production.
- Communicate with front-of-house staff to ensure orders are delivered to customers accurately and quickly.
- Follow all health and safety guidelines, including proper food handling and sanitation practices.
- Maintain stock levels and ensure proper storage of food items.
- Be adaptable to shifting tasks and able to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years of experience working as a fry cook, specifically handling chicken, meat, and other fried items.
- Experience in a fast food or high-volume kitchen environment.
- Ability to expedite orders and ensure that food is delivered quickly and accurately.
- Strong knowledge of food safety and kitchen procedures.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and stay calm under pressure.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Preferred:
- Culinary training or certification (a plus but not required).
- Experience working with fryers, grills, and other kitchen equipment in a fast food setting.
