Educational Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in information systems, Computer Science, Data Science & Analytics, Business Analytics, or a related field is required.

Licenses/Certifications:

  • None required.

Experience, Knowledge & Skills:

  • Minimum of 5 years of industry experience in analytics and information systems, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong customer focus and a collaborative mindset.
  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handle multiple projects, and deliver results.
  • Excellent interpersonal and time-management skills.
  • Proficiency in business intelligence, data science, and dashboard tools, including but not limited to:
    • Databases and Query Languages: SQL, Oracle, Vertica, Snowflake.
    • Visualization Tools: Tableau (preferred), Spotfire, Sisense, Qlik, Microsoft Power BI.
    • Server Administration Tools: Tableau Core, Data Management Server.
    • Data Prep/Transformation Tools: Tableau Prep, Hadoop, Alteryx, Data Robot, Trifacta, Talend.
    • Statistical Tools: R, SAS, MATLAB, Minitab.
    • Data Science Tools: Python, Dataiku, Anaconda, Cnvrg, Data Robot.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Management & Leadership:

  • Lead and manage the department’s strategic initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Support and motivate teams in data collection, processing, modelling, analysis, and insights to drive value.
  • Foster clear communication by leading departmental and leadership meetings and engaging cross-functional teams and key stakeholders.
  • Oversee resource planning and promote professional growth through performance goals, department objectives, and development plans.

Operational Oversight:

  • Streamline the analytics request process, ensuring alignment, tracking, prioritization, and timely delivery.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to drive data-informed decision-making that aligns with strategic goals.
  • Manage financial aspects of projects, including budgeting and resource allocation.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, vendors, and regulatory agencies.
  • Support reporting needs such as system requests, audits, research, and external submissions.

Analytics Solutions & Development:

  • Oversee the design and delivery of analytics products and solutions to support key performance metrics and decision-making.
  • Implement quality controls and departmental standards to ensure adherence to organizational and regulatory requirements.
  • Guide the growth and management of foundational analytics systems and tools, ensuring their health, availability, and strategic advancement.
  • Perform root cause analysis and manage issue resolution effectively.

Training & Mentorship:

  • Serve as a mentor and coach to team members, fostering skill development and professional growth.
  • Promote the use of analytics tools across the organization by mentoring user groups and encouraging adoption of existing analytic products.

Regulatory & Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with policies and standards, including security, data access, and HIPAA regulations.
  • Maintain a focus on safe practices for staff, patients, and visitors.
