Firestone Pacific Foods, LLC (FPF) is a top-tier, efficient processor of frozen fruit that has earned a strong reputation in the market for quality and food safety. FPF has sales relationships with leading US and international food retailers and US food service companies. The company is well positioned to achieve double digit annual growth in the highest growth frozen fruit category sub-segments including organic, private label and blended berry products.
Agriculture Capital Fund II, an impact investment fund, acquired FPF in the fall of 2019 as part of its strategy to build out a low cost, vertically integrated supply chain of high quality, organic blueberries operating at scale to address growing global demand for this nutritious fruit. Together, FPF and Agriculture Capital seek to provide customers with product traceability back to the farm and a vehicle for creating and capturing value from Agriculture Capital’s regenerative agronomic practices.
The Firestone Family began farming in the Vancouver, WA, in 1896. We are a fully integrated grower processing operation for domestic and export fruit customers. Our fruit is harvested at the peak of ripeness, processed in our state-of-the art facility, and packed for shipment, ensuring quality in every product from the farm where it was grown to the finished bag in the consumer’s freezer.
As a Sales Operations Manager, you will be responsible for optimizing the sales processes, managing sales data, and ensuring that the sales team has the tools, resources, and support needed to meet and exceed sales targets. This role involves close collaboration with the sales, operations, finance, QA, and customer service teams to drive alignment and ensure seamless execution of sales strategies.
Responsibilities:
- Sales Forecasting & Planning:
- Assist in the development of sales forecasts and budgets.
- Monitor sales performance against forecasts and adjust plans as needed.
- Collaborate with finance and senior leadership to align sales goals with company objectives.
- Sales Process Optimization:
- Streamlining sales processes and workflows to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
- Lead Sales Forecasting and Planning function, including developing sales forecasts and plans based on customer forecasts, historical data, market trends, and business objectives.
- Provide support with customer bid process including building out customer bid forms using data from finance, working with QA, Packaging, Operations to verify ability to produce items on bid.
- Identify and implement sales operations process improvements.
- Sales Process Support:
- Responsible for leading and managing NPD (New Product Development) programs with the objective to deliver projects/programs on time and budget that meet business objectives and customer needs. Assist in maintaining and optimizing sales processes and workflows.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth handoffs and collaboration.
- Provides professional and/or technical leadership in the execution of day-to-day sales project activities.
- Support implementation of good practices and industry standard project management and processes
- Documentation and Compliance:
- Maintain accurate records of sales activities, contracts, and agreements.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Assist in preparing documentation for audits and compliance reviews.
- Sales Performance Monitoring:
- Tracking sales metrics and KPIs to monitor performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Monthly sales report/movement report for customers externally and staff internally.
- Track and ensure on time delivery of sales project deliverables.
- Cross-functional Collaboration:
- Working closely with other departments such as marketing, finance, and operations to align sales initiatives with overall business goals.
- Work with production scheduler to be sure we have ample packed inventory to fill customer orders. Review Master Production schedule with production scheduler regularly.
- Work with packaging coordinator to verify amply packaging supplies ordered/on hand. Planning with packaging coordinator to maximize value in packaging orders.
- Work with QA on new customer/item set up. Link customers and QA department where needed.
- Contribute to improvement and implementation of cross functional internal processes.
- Customer Support:
- Manage customer service team including order receipt to shipment, receive orders, confirm inventory and storage location, confirm order with customer.
- New customer and item onboarding. Manage customer web portals and keep current.
- Facilitate Customer sampling programs – working with QA to assure availability and on time delivery.
- Help manage and maintain costing and pricing structure for all customers.
- Lead new customer or new item set up process across the organization. Work with QA and Packaging teams throughout new item/customer onboard.
- Other activities as assigned.
Essential Job Requirement:
- Bachelor’s degree with 2+ years of related work experience OR Master’s degree with 1+ years of related work experience preferred.
- PMP Certified – preferred.
- Process Improvement proficiency.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications (Project, Power Point, Visio, Outlook, Excel) is required.
- Excellent decision-making skills and comfort in influencing and leading cross-functional groups.
- Superior interpersonal skills with demonstrated competencies in team building, influencing and negotiation, and conflict management.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Comfortable presenting to and communicating with cross-functional groups at multiple levels of corporate structure.
- Proactive, hands-on management style.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, creative in finding innovative solutions to project execution or process problems.
- Demonstrated leadership strengths, adaptable to changes in project scope or direction as appropriate.
- English/Spanish bilingual a plus.
