Arakyta LLC is seeking a full-time Systems Engineer to be based in the Toledo, OH area. The Systems Engineer's role is to act strategically as a resourceful and engaged, hands-on, technical engineer towards client service issues. Systems Engineers must have the ability to resolve challenging technical issues in line with client expectations. This position requires a detail-oriented individual with a very strong emphasis on managed services and excellent customer support. The ideal candidate should be able to prioritize and work on multiple issues concurrently and deliver measurable results in a fast changing / evolving environment. The ability to self manage is a must. This individual will perform problem analysis and systems monitoring, as well as network security management, performance analysis and support. The position will also be responsible for managing / improving the existing private cloud infrastructure / offerings. In addition, the ideal candidate must be able to provide regular communication between the client and the rest of the technical team and set proper client expectations. The final candidate will be able to support the current customer base as well as provide ideas/concepts to improve current offerings.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Will work with clients directly and/or by phone, offering desktop and user support and maintenance
  • Triage and escalate IT issues to Tier II or Tier III appropriately
  • Train computer users
  • Install, modify, and repair computer hardware and software
  • Maintain and upgrade current cloud based offerings
  • Network implementations, migrations and upgrades (Servers, workstations, networking, security)
  • Maintain, modify and update client application programs
  • Completes all documentation as needed
  • Follows accepted and defined processes, methodologies and procedures

Skills Requirements:

Strong knowledge of the following

  • Windows server operating systems 2008 through 2016
  • Operating systems, including, Windows 7 through Windows 10
  • Networking technologies (TCP/IP, DNS, etc.) Internet and firewall technologies
  • Windows Active Directory
  • Windows Group Policy Management
  • Windows Exchange Server 2007 through 2016
  • VMware Virtualization including vSphere and vCenter 5.0 - 6.0
  • SharePoint 2010 through 2016
  • Very experienced in working with Storage arrays and SAN technologies

Knowledge of the following

  • Windows Terminal Server
  • Microsoft SQL administration
  • Backup Management
  • Ability to troubleshoot and administer Cisco switches/router
  • Understanding of networking concepts such as VLANS and Subnets
  • Basic knowledge of FreeBSD and Linux

Additional Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to thrive in a team atmosphere, making individual contributions to challenging projects
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently and to meet deadlines
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Good interpersonal skills to work as a team member and as a liaison with customers
  • Ability to work independently and with little supervision, appropriately prioritizing matters of significance
  • Able to troubleshoot/solve Level 2/3 escalated support calls
  • Strong problem solving, debugging skills
  • Can work onsite with customers and lead Projects to completion

Preferred Experience/Certificates:

  • Microsoft SQL server query / management, SSRS, SSIS
  • Microsoft Windows Server/ Exchange / SharePoint certifications preferred
  • VMware and/or Cisco Certifications a plus
