Job Summary:

The VP of Revenue Cycle Management is responsible for the leadership, oversight and optimization of all billing and collection functions within the organization. They will ensure the efficient and effective management of all aspects related to revenue generation, reimbursement, and financial performance across all company practices. The Vice President of Revenue Cycle will collaborate closely with executive leadership and other stakeholders to develop and implement revenue cycle strategies that drive revenue optimization and financial sustainability.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead all elements of the Revenue Cycle by providing oversight of all coding, billing, collections, payment posting, credentialing and provider enrollment, pre-authorization, and measurement of KPIs of the Revenue Cycle function.
  • Provide advice, leadership and guidance to the Billing Manager and other members of the revenue cycle department. Support the organization in the development of strategies and in the achievement of performance goals.
  • Create, manage, measure and report KPI metrics for the department, including reporting results to senior management.
  • Enable collaboration across and within the organization to ensure consistency and integration of strategy and operations.
  • Lead standardization of systems and optimization of policy, process, and methodologies across multiple locations.
  • Collaborate in company-wide strategy development and deployment of functional area priorities and initiatives.
  • Accountable for the selection, evaluation, structure, and overall success of the departmental leadership teams.
  • Implement and drive financial strategies to improve overall performance of revenue collection.
  • Continually review process, market trends and payer/regulatory changes to identify necessary improvements and prevent risk related occurrences.
  • Assess the Revenue Cycle Department of acquisition opportunities, and provide recommendations regarding their teams, systems, and processes.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration or related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years progressive experience in Revenue Cycle management within a healthcare system.
  • Proven knowledge in revenue cycle best practices, billing and coding regulations and healthcare reimbursement methodologies.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
  • Expert knowledge of AMA coding guidelines, government and commercial payer regulations, insurance contract analysis, and denial resolution is required.
  • Ability to collaborate to drive operational RCM improvement with operations leaders and providers (End to End)
  • Specific systems knowledge gGastro, EPIC is a plus
  • Knowledge of payor contracting. 
  • Experience building or rebuilding a multi-site, multi-state, RCM function for a provider organization.
