  • 2 to 5 years of patent prosecution experience
  • Active Pennsylvania Bar License (Required to practice in Pittsburgh, PA)
  • Law firm experience 
  • Technical background (BS/MS preferred) in computer circuits, multiprocessor design, and/or telecommunications
  • USPTO registration (or Patent Bar eligibility)
  • Strong research, writing, and analytical skills
  • Familiarity with intellectual property law and patent litigation procedures
  • Litigation experience is a plus but not required
  • Interview inventors and prepare patent applications
  • Draft and prosecute U.S. and foreign patent applications, including ex parte appeals
  • Conduct validity, infringement, and freedom-to-operate studies, including preparing associated legal opinion letters
  • Provide legal counsel on intellectual property matters, with a primary focus on patent law, and support licensing, trademark, and copyright matters
  • Collaborate with partners, associates, and support staff to ensure effective case management
  • Stay informed on developments in intellectual property law and contribute to the firm's knowledge base
