Part-time Intellectual Property Administrative Assistant
Location: Pittsburgh, PA 15212
Duration: 5 Months+
Schedule: 16 hours, preferably as two full days

Will be in the Intellectual Property (IP) group, which will consist of the candidate and the Assistant General Counsel, IP and Aerospace & Defense. Will interact frequently with other members of the Legal Department (attorneys and paralegals).

Responsibilities:
  • Preparing agendas for the 4 monthly Intellectual Property ( "IP") committee meetings including gathering data from Anaqua, the IP Management tool, and other sources.
  • Effecting the decisions made at the IP Committee meetings including updating and creating new matters in Anaqua, opening matters in Ascent, the legal billing tool, and instructing outside counsel and other service providers (e.g., patent annuity and trademark renewal service providers).
  • Completing typical IP docketing tasks, including updating existing matters and opening new matters as needed (e.g., divisional patent applications).
  • Completing miscellaneous activities, including inventor award processing, monthly archiving of Anaqua matters, quarterly deactivation of former employees from Anaqua, tracking metrics, and archiving of patent grant certificates.
  • May need to expedite sending matters to outside counsel for immediate filing but typically operate well ahead of known deadlines.
Qualifications:
  • The candidate is expected to have sufficient experience with Anaqua, Intellectual Property Management tool, in a corporate role to operate independently and without training except for the unique aspects of how the client utilizes Anaqua.
  • Two (2) years of IP docketing experience and ideally docketing of patent and trademark matters.
  • Self-motivated, team player.
