Payroll & AP Specialist Qualifications:
- Previous payroll and accounts payable experience required
- Strong data entry skills with a high attention to detail
- Familiarity with job costing and certified payroll preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and payroll/accounting software (M&T experience is a plus)
- Strong common sense and problem-solving skills
- Ability to handle a high volume of transactions in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently
Payroll & AP Specialist Responsibilities:
Payroll (50%):
- Process payroll for 126 employees (hourly & salary) on a weekly basis, ensuring timely and accurate payments
- Manage job costing for payroll and certified payrolls
- Handle full in-house payroll processing, including generating reports and ensuring compliance with M&T
- Oversee payroll-related paperwork and documentation
- Address employee payroll inquiries and resolve any discrepancies
Accounts Payable (50%):
- Process 70-100 invoices per week with a focus on purchase orders
- Perform weekly check runs averaging $300K-$350K, ensuring timely payments
- Monitor and manage accounts payable transactions and vendor relationships
- Adapt to new processes as the company transitions to a new ERP system for millwork
- Ensure accuracy in AP data entry and maintain organized records
